Kids' Top 5 Hometown Travel Destinations, According to Tumble Listeners!

May 6, 2018

You don't have to board a plane to exotic places to start traveling. You can start exploring, right at home! That's why we asked our awesome listeners on Patreon why people should visit their hometown, and what they should do!

Listen to their suggestions in the clip above, and then see the sights they suggest down below!

Add your town as a destination by sending us a recording to answering the following questions:

  • Your name and your age

  • Where do you live?

  • Why should people visit?

  • What do you think people should do when they're there?

Okay! Now to see the sights!

1. Baltimore, Maryland/ Washington, D.C.

Makayla and Nadia, from the Girlfriends Book Club suggest going to the top of Baltimore's World Trade Center for the view, and a tour of America's capitol city, so you can see where the president lives.

2. San Diego, California

Alex and Ian, brother and sister, love living in Southern California. That's where you can go to Comic Con, every July. Ian recommends South Ponto Beach, all year round.

3. Wauconda, Illinois

Mitchell lives outside Chicago, near an amazing lake! He loves swimming in the summer and ice skating in the winter.

4. Kissimee, Florida

Chaska lives near the Magic Kingdom. He recommends fossil hunting at nearby Venice Beach, and his favorite ride is Big Thunder Mountain.

5. Basel, Switzerland

Jodi, who is five, loves taking the train to the zoo. That's where you can see animals, and play on a really fun playground.

Which of these towns would be on the top of your list? Can you look it up on a map, and discover what else there is to do there?

Don't forget, you can send us your hometown travel tips at We can't wait to hear from you!

Thanks to Makayla, Nadia, Alex, Ian, Mitchell, Chaska, Joni, and their adults for sending us their recordings!
